Lazy Utilities :: Wake Computer.

Wake Computer will sent a wake on lan (WOL) signal to the machine with a matching MAC address to that specified. The remote machine needs to be configured to accept the WOL signal. If you know the MAC address then enter it in the boxes otherwise you can use the lookup function to discover this for Windows based machines.

Lookup allows you to query the remote Windows machines to determine the MAC address. Enter the host machine you wish to find the MAC address for in the Host Machine box, enter a user name and password in the appropriate box. If you are using a domain account then just use the user name, if you are using a specific user account on the machine use machine\\username. Blank password are not accepted so the user must have a password and they must also be administrators on the remote machine. The machines firewall must also be configured to allow WMI access. See Adding a user in Windows XP

After clicking lookup you should get a list of IP addressed used by the machine on the network and the MAC address associated with them. Select the most appropriate IP Address and click OK.

The MAC address selected should be entered into the MAC address box.
